Konnichiwa, Your Call Is Important To Us
Day 432 – September 26, 2012
Last night, our cable system ceased to operate. A helpful message appears on our television screen telling us to dial a certain phone number for assistance.
Since my lovely wife has better Spanish skills than I have, she took the phone and called for help.
The following is a sure sign you are in Peru…
This is a simulated transcript of a recording my lovely wife heard after she dialed the special number:
“Press 1 if you would like to continue this call in Spanish.
“Press 2 if you would like to hear this call in Japanese.”
According to this website, Japanese immigrants began coming to Peru in the latter part of the nineteenth century.
I love learning something new.
